I will say that it will be enough to run it at "High" settings, but we should wait until CDPR tells us the right spec requirements for Witcher 3 :)

I am getting a 6990 or a GTX 780 this janurary :)

Hopefully it will be enough to play Witcher 3 on Max settings :p

At the moment your guess is as good as ours, nothing is certain until CD Projekt releases more information regarding the requirements. My personal gamble is that a 760 GTX should be fine for medium/high if the rest of your system is also up to snuff (a decent quad core processer and atleast 4 gb of ram).

I am planning to buy that same graphics card my self my hole computer will have a new "transplants" :D/>/>/>/>

Already bought this one: Asus Sabertooth 990FX Rev 2.0 AMD 990FX 4xDDR3 SLI CrossFireX Socket AM3+ ATX https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R20/

Then next one will be CPU-Socket-AM3 AMD FX-8350 X8 4.0GHz Socket AM3+ Boxed http://hothardware.com/Reviews/AMD-FX-8350-Vishera-8Core-CPU-Review/ and the graphics card that should suffice for a while considering what i have now.

Hi, I'm planning on buying a GTX 760 by January and was hoping if it would be enough to run The Witcher 3. I don't care for 60fps or maxed settings. If i can get 40fps at 1080p, I'll be fine. Would the 760 be enough?

Ofcourse it's enough, 760 is a great card.

I'm planning on waiting for Maxwell to (hopefullly) upgrade for The Witcher 3. Unless you think you may not have the extra funds to use then. It might be wiser to wait a bit, before rushing off to buy a current gen card, for a next gen title :)

Just my opinion though, of course.

That's a pretty darn good PC :)

My current system specs are as follows:

i7 2600 @ 3.4
8gb ddr3
750w psu
GT630 (yes I know it's quite crap but i got it for free)

Honestly, if I can play the game at medium-high settings at 1080p, I'll still be fine. I was impressed by the 760 benchmarks and I was surprised that it handles Crysis 3 at max 1080p with 35-40 fps. To me that is very playable. It also handles BF4 quite well at 1080p maxed. I've seen that the 760 beats both next-gen consoles when considering resolution and graphics settings. So yeah my goal now is to run it at medium 1080p with 35fps at least. Does that sound reasonable for the card?

Also I know that it will be more wiser to wait but honestly I'm just sick of playing on this damn GT630. I can't play AC4 at all even on the lowest settings. Maxwell is probably coming out later next year and I cannot wait. There's still games I wanna play such as Lords Of Shadow 2, Dark souls etc. If I already had a capable card such as a 560, I really would wait for Maxwell but now need a good upgrade.

I concur that is a nice setup .

It seems like a good idea, topics about requirements and such have been popping up fairly often.

Get the 780
Dual chip based gpu's like the 6990 are sometimes a bit problematic and i even saw in some benchmarks that cards which cost twice less(not dual chipped cards) perform better in some games( 7850 beats the 6990 in SR 4 which is amd optimaized game) :)/>/>

(for dem fur physics ..... :p )

FX8350 @ 4.0Ghz
GeForce GTX 780
Vengeance Pro 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz "16GB Now"
24" iiyama Pro Monitor

I think I'm all set :)/>

I am thinking of buying a 770 gtx to be ready for it, though doubting wether or not that will be enough to max it.
Even if it can't max it, it should have no problems running it at pretty good settings. The GTX 770 is a lot more powerful than the glorified APU in the next gen consoles lol. I'm not worried about my 280x running TW3.

Although if you are upgrading purely for TW3, you might as well wait until the game is closer to release and see what video card options are available then.

My prediction for the game's system requirements:

Min:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz / AMD Athlon X2 2.7 GHZ
Video Card: DX11 Compliant Video card with 1GB VRAM (i.e. Nvidia GTS 450, AMD HD5770)
Ram: 3GB

Recommended:
CPU: Quad-Core CPU
Video Card: DX 11 Video card with 2GB VRAM (Nvidia GTX 660, AMD 7870)
RAM: 8GB

In the end I decided to get the 770 now and enjoy tons of other games until TW3 comes out (already have actually), which could still be over nearly a year of time. If TW3 needs beast like power then I will simply use the 770 as a physx card and throw in the most powerful card of the Maxwell series (assuming they become available before release).

The only change I will make for my PC is to get a 280x, it should be sufficient. I have an intel 2500K, 16 gigs of ram, might have to clock it a bit, but other then that I think I'm all set. :)

Just found out recently that I'm going to get some inheritance sometime next spring so I can build the best possible PC for TW3. Won't upgrade until late 14, early 15 though. I want to see what kind of CPUs AMD and Intel bring to the market next year. Might even go for a Titan level GPU for the first time in my life, just because I can. But we'll see.

I will probably have to run it at mediumish and some high settings. Im gonna have to grab a second 7970 too or a 280x cause my card is getting pretty outdated now
