The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - PC System Requirements are here!

+
Hi I was wondering if my computer specs will be able to play The Witcher 3 in high/ultra settings 30/60fps?
Thanks you for any suggestions :)

Computer Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K 3.5GHz
GPU: ASUS STRIX-GTX980-DC2OC-4GD5
RAM: Kingston Beast XMP 32GB DDR3, 2400 Mhz
HDD: 2 x Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB (SH103S3/120G)
HDD: Western Digital Black 1TB, 64MB, SATAIII, 7200rpm (WD1003FZEX)

Even in the current incomplete state of optimization, a comparable rig plays the game very well at High and 30 fps. Ultra setting isn't quite ready, but developers have stated that a rig of those specs will play the game on Ultra.

There is eye candy beyond Ultra, such as Ubersampling, that no single card is capable of yet.

Thanks for your answer.

I know that no single GPU will be able to run Ubersampling... I do not expect it... I just would like to enjoy this game in the best possible quality regarding to my rig. I really love Witcher universe and the story behind it. I played all games, read all books and comics :) I know TW3 will be the best RPG ever and we can rely on CDPR regarding the story once again, but it would be nice to be able to play it in high details at least :) I bet you know what I mean :)

I thought that GTX 780Ti was going to be enough to run the Witcher 3 on 1080p. But then I bought the Asus ROG PG278Q with Q-sync, so I decided to replace 780ti with ASUS ROG Matrix GTX 980. And when I overclock that card I expect this game to run smoothly with high settings.

CPU: i7 5960x 3.0 mhz 8 Core 20mb cache. 2011 v3 socket.

Mainboard: ASUS Rampage V Extreme Intel X99 Soket 2011V3 8 Slot DDR4 3000Mhz.

Graphic Card: Evga GTX980 Classified ACX 2.0 GDDR5 4GB 256Bit DX12 Nvidia.

Memory: GSKILL 16GB (4x4G) Rip Jaws 4 Red DDR4 3000MHz CL15 1.35V Ouad Kit Ram.

I'm fine without Uber setting, actualy I didnt notice big difrences in W2 with Uber enabled. I just want high-ultra setting with fur+cloth+hair at 60fps with another GTX 980.

We know. Thats the 2nd time you've posted your specs...

You know, you could just put those specs in your sig so you don't have to post every other page if you want people to see them..

EDIT: Also, how did you manage to underclock that 5960x to 3 mhz? :p

Now tell me .. if you have so much cash, why don't you change your 980s for 2x titan-z in sli( actually 4 gpu cores then with 6gb usable vram.), and get a g-sync monitor too. i think probably even 100+ fps is achievalbe in 4k resolution on any game .. honestly if i would win the loterry, i'd do that too easily. :D

Hi all, question, for video cards can the GTX 750Ti meet the GTX 660. I know it has less channels than the 660 but it's speed is good.
My system is:
Win 7 64 bit
i7 2700@3.4
16 gig ram
GT 640 (which is know is not enough)

My case is small form and so need a smaller card and the GTX 750Ti fits but I don't want to spend the money and discover it is not good enough
The other option is a Zotac GeForce GTX 660. First choice would be the 750Ti though

Is this mainly a case size issue or cost issue as well? Because you can get a GTX 970 the size of a 750ti, a smaller form factor isn't just limited to the lower end cards.

I don't think you'll get a very enjoyable experience on the 750ti honestly.

EDIT: And if cost is an issue as well, I'd recommend to spend just a little bit more to get the 960 over the 750ti, http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-...165mhz-boost-1228mhz-cores-1024-dvi-i-dvi-d-d
Looking at the game requirements, it would push you up from slightly below minimum to recommended spec.

aren't the recommended cards both 4gb?

No, the 770 was a 2GB card.
If he were to go with the 750ti it'd be 2GB as well, unlike the GTX970 where it would be 4GB (or 3.5+0.5 if you must), or the 960 which would be 2GB but considerably faster than the 750ti.
VRAM has very little to do with performance anyway. In things like the RED Engine textures get loaded and unloaded based on how much VRAM you have, it works around it, that's the way it worked in Witcher 2.
In other games you would just drop texture quality if you're having VRAM usage issues.
But I really doubt this game will need a lot of VRAM considering the way the previous iteration of the engine handled it and the fact that the recommended 770 is a 2GB card.

Hey guys, my VGA is a GTX 970, which is better than the recommeded they ask for, the problem is, my CPU is a i5 3330, which is inferior than the minimum they ask for, do you guys think i can run this game in approximately 1080p, High with 60 fps ? or am i asking too much with this CPU, should i upgrade it ? ( the rest of it, is equal as the recommended, 8 GB of RAM, etc ).
Thanks guys !

Errr...i5 3330 is almost the same CPU then i5-2500k.
Both are much better then AMD minimum requirement cpu so you should be more then fine.

GTX 970 Memory Issues

Hi there,

I am super excited for the release of Witcher3 and will definitely need to upgrade my GPU to get the best player experience!

My initial plans were to get the GTX 970, since I don't really like AMD and the 970 gives you the best performance for what you have to pay.
Well....that was before I heard about the VRam issues / L2 cache spec scandal earlier this year....
I really don't want to pay for a GTX980, the 970 is just outside my price range as it is but for W3 I'd say it's worth it!

Will the 970 be able to play W3 with everything maxed out for 1080p monitors? Or will the VRam limitations cause low FPS and stuttering?

Thanks in advance!

@Kalarupa the 750Ti isn't on par with the 660, seems rather on par with a 560Ti. Anyway it's under minimum requirements and therefore of course the advice is not to buy it for this specifical game. Your case may store other cards, less power not necessarily = a more compact card.

@Murray_Irvine don't know if you'll be able to max the game with a 970 @1080p. Hopefully yes or almost, developers stated they aim for a 980 to be able to max the game at that resolution. If you have issues, I feel quite confident to say they won't be related to VRAM at that resolution. I share your situation and there's no better solution than waiting for benches and see how the GPU performs.

The 970 is fine in 1080p and 1440p 99 percent of the time. It is when 4 k is used and hits 3.5 plus vram you get some issues. Most testing I have down and seen, shows it was blown out of proportion. I have 2 970's Gigabyte Windforce ....great cards. Will it max at 60 fps , doubt it, more like 30 to 50 fps. It is likely to take multiple cards to max PC version of W3 . Then again until it is released none of us know for sure. Just speculation my friend(s)

I would get an itx 970 by gigabyte.

Small, yet powerful and energy efficient!!!

Would a notebook with a gtx 970m suffice?

Do you guys know if a notebook with a gtx 970m will be able to run it on ultra/high or a 980m will be required? Also does radeon has a comparable mobile gpu? Thinking about something like acer ROG G751 (with either the 980m or 970m). I ask because the price difference is considerable. And I know a desktop would be cheaper and better. But not an option.

Curious about opinions on my system and how it will handle TW3. My main concern is my CPU:
CPU: CORE I7-970 @ 3.2Ghz (Not Overclocked ATM, but I have ran it stable to 4.0Ghz)
GPU: Asus DirectCUII R9-290X
RAM: 12GB DDR3 @ 1333Mhz
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 1TB
Monitor Resolution: 1900x1200

Any opinions, especially about my CPU situation, would be appreciated!
