The Yennefer/Triss choice in TW3

That's exactly what I thought!
No direct choice, no obvious dialog options where you get who you will choose.
All hidden in a long part of the story line, many different decisions wich all will lead to one final situations where you have face what you have done.

That would be so fucking amazing...

I agree with you that would be awesome and better than a simplistic choice at the end with Triss and Yennefer standing there and you have to choose one
As we know Triss and Yennefer are very different so they will have different opinions on certain things
and Geralts love in the end will be the one you supported most
I like that idea

Why not both? Geralt can handle it.

Geralt would end up as burned corpse! Or as ugly toad teleported in a cold lake... to cool him down.

HE HE HE thats why i wished for the "nude poster" you know :p :p :p

Well, just for a minute, imagine.... imagine that along the whole main plot, without any hint, every chose we make makes our Geralt go closer to one or other woman. I mean, not with direct choices which affect to chose a lover but indirectly. And you cannot know how you arrive there.....

So this my lady!!!

Here is another quotation:

You re not here to decide. You re here to learn why you decided that way! Thought you already know that.
(sorry for the bad english translation of this... don t know the exact phrase)

PS: am i sexsist yet? Oh and yes i am sure a little boy inside :p sometimes

Don't worry, I'm not sexist, that's why I wish to see Geralt's nudes as Yen or Triss will do it....

I really hope CDPR doesn't listen to the book fanatics who so desperately want Geralt to be with Yennefer its ridiculous and don't shove Yennefer down our throats
instead I'm hoping for a choice I mean the argument that in the books they loved each other is invalid
So much happened both had amnesia what do you expect that they still love each other unconditionally

And even if the amnesia is gone in TW3 its not like Geralt shifts immediately back to being "book" Geralt
the experiences he had while having amnesia are still there (the possible feelings for Triss also)
the difference to TW3 is that the feelings he had for Yennefer are added and now he has a hard choice to make
not just run off with Yennefer just because they had someting once

So I guess I'll have to say it once more. No "book fanatic" has ever said that they do NOT want a "choice". The "choice" is welcome. We have simply said that for us, the "choice" is obvious.

People who have read the books, feel that it is pretty obvious that amnesia means nothing. We have a more "complete" idea of how this World works, and thus, we expect Geralt and Yennefer's connection to not have changed in the slightest bit.

That being said, nobody here is trying to force you guys to "choose" Yennefer. There should be an option of romancing Triss as well, since many fans of the games want so.

Frankly, I don't think there will be a choice, like most people imagine. I believe CDPR will really surprise us with this issue.

Geralt starting to remember his past experiences, will most definitely change him. It will be instant. That doesn't mean that he will stop caring about Triss, should the player decide so.

However that does not mean that he won't either. If the player decides so as well. This is all that "book fanatics" have expressed. For us there is no way Geralt simply ignores Yennefer, and makes a new life with Triss. If you wish to understand us, you can read the books, or read the wiki information about Yennefer, or even read a summary of her role in the books, provided by another thread here in the forum.

Here's a link to that, if you are interested.

trust me there are definitely book fans on this forum who don't want an option because it wouldn't be canon
And I'm actually reading the books (almost at the end of book 3 of the book saga, the lodge meeting) and while I really like Yennefer as a character (triss in the books is kinda not that important and wasted in my opinion) I just don't see what's so magical about her relationship with Geralt
Well maybe I will by the end of the saga but even then I want an option for the sake of this being an RPG and because I want to do multiple playthroughs with
different types of Geralt

Affirmative. I have personally ran into a few book fans that are against a choice between Yen & Triss. They claim that there is no way Geralt would even consider Triss when his memory has returned and he remembers his relationship with Yen.
I've read the books and loved them, but I agree with you. Geralt from the games is not the same Geralt from from the books, because of amnesia, the rest of the stuff that has happened during the course of the games, and the bond that he now has with Triss; and he will never be the same even with the return of his memory, because his old memories are not going to erase and override his memories after the amnesia. Geralt and Triss have a strong bond now; because out of all of his friends, it was Triss who stuck with Geralt through his amnesia, saved his life several times, and nurtured him when he was most vulnerable and lost. The same goes for Yen, as it was said by Letho that she also had amnesia. I believe CDPR should do it's best to re-introduce Yen in the games and even highlight how much Geralt loved Yen, but at the same time the Triss relationship should also get emphasized and even get more developed in the course of Witcher 3.
So Geralt and consequently the player would have a difficult choice to make, and this choice should really impact the game.

Well, with 1651 posts on the topic, it's bound to have covered pretty much every variation in opinions. But as has been mentioned, there are also plenty of book-fans who accept that a choice is good, even though for them personally it HAS to be Yen.

agree completely finally someone who understands this
I just hope Triss relationship with Geralt will also be evolved in TW 3 and not overshadowed by Yennefer with Triss only being a One Night Stand
Or maybe they will pull some cheap trick of Triss sacrificing herself for Geralt and Yennefer
wow that would really break the game for me
there has to be a choice all the book fans can choose Yennefer all they want but I want Triss as an option and both equally portrayed !

How did Triss act in the books though? I always thought she was one of those girls who got jealous but once she has the guy she'll start to lose interest.
She is really hooked with Geralt and had sex with him from time to time, but she knows, and kind of sadly accepts, that Geralt and Yennefer are in love and have a strong bond with each other. Yennefer is in some ways like a big sister to Triss, and knows that she had sex with Geralt. Yennefer doesnt make such a big deal of that, but teases Triss about the subject, given the chance. Triss isn´t as emotionally strong as Yennefer, seems more fragile.

Oh yes she does. She rakes Triss over the coals about it in Lady Of The Lake.

YEEEESSS catfight with final lesbian make up sexscene Triss X Yen confirmed WOOOOHOUUUUUUU!!!!!!

:wat:

PS:

Sry i had to :p :p :p

Yennefer is actually quite jealous and intrusive when it comes to Geralt's love life, and considers Triss as an actual threat which she manifests by being abusive and cold hearted towards her, while Triss is in love up the ears in Geralt and uses any and I mean ANY opportunity to sexually advance on him.

Therefore I expect to see some serious tension and intolerance going on and Geralt in the middle of it.
